The most anticipated summer arcade game is released today in Japan. It's of course Mario Kart Arcade GP DX, the third episode of the series. This Bandai Namco title features the bases that made the success of the first two games but it also adds a lot of new features. First of all, two new game modes: Ghost Battle Mode and Team Co-op Mode. The first one is an online mode where players will be able to confront ghosts of other players from all over the country. In Team Co-op Mode, two players team against the CPU. They can merge their kart: one of the two drives and the other uses the attacks. Flying and diving karts are now available. Don-chan, one of the two Taiko No Tatsujin drums, joins the line-up of characters. A Taiko No Tatsujin themed track has also been added and ten of the existing courses have been redesigned. One hundred objects are already available and others will be added via updates. Note that there is no more Time Attack mode and it's not possible to use data from the old Mario Kart games. Star Horse 3 is very popular since its release in November 2011, its sequel is released today: Star Horse 3 Season II - Blaze of Glory. This update adds a new race program "European Triple Crown" and enhances the "Dart line". In Memorial Race mode, the player receives medals when he wins. With these medals, he can unlock special items and wallpapers. The new "Prime Cup" has been added: it takes place over a week and the final is simultaneously nationwide relayed! StarBoat Progress, the sequel of StarBoat released in November 2011, will be available tomorrow. The game has be improved. There are new courses: "Championship of the sea", "Art League",... New competitors have also added some of them are women. Players can also race against new characters of Monkey Turn, Katsutoshi Kawai's manga. During EVO 2013, Capcom announced a new version of Super Street Fighter IV - Arcade Edition for next year. Capcom promises a whole new game, hence a new name: Ultra Street Fighter IV. The main new feature is the 5 new characters. Four have already been unveiled: Poison, Hugo, Elena and Rolento and the fifth one will be a character never seen in a Street Fighter game. The game will be rebalanced thanks to feedback from players around the world including pro gamers. The development team worked on decreasing the gap between the higher and the lower characters. They also announced new combos and new features. Ultra Street Fighter IV will be on location test this Summer and will be distributed via NESiCAxLive.

Announced at the JAEPO in February, Sega's Code of Joker is available in Japanese arcades since yesterday. Just like in Square Enix's Lord of Vermilion, the player fights through trading cards. The game is played in turns, the player alternates attacking phases and defence phases. He can use different type of units such as warrior, monster, genius, devil, angel, machine, hero... "Trigger" and "Intercept" card with various effects can be used at certain times. The 7 game characters (Jin, Ayaka, Kouhei, Navy, Gunji, Saya and Tokiyo) have respectively a Joker card from the tarot (death, justice, star, magician, chariot, moon and emperor). These cards have a special effect each such as inflicting damage to all enemy units, regain control from the opponent, randomly destroy two enemy units, ... The game is played 1vs1, and the match can be local or online. Code of Joker's opening was directed by the famous Production I.G studio (Ghost in the Shell, xxxHolic, Robotics;Note...). Players can register at COJ-AgentLabo to access deck edition and statistics via internet. Code of Joker runs on RingEdge 2.

maimai's sequel is out today. maimai is a music game released by Sega last year. maimai GreeN adds some many new features to the previous title. Musically, maimai GreeN features new Vocaloid songs, anime songs (Bakemonogatari, Naruto, Tales of the Abyss, Fullmetal Alchemist, Neon Genesis Evangelion,...), video game themes (Puyo Puyo, Phantasy Star, Sakura Wars, Shining Force Cross Elysion,...), J-POP and songs from Touhou Project. The multiplayer mode has been enhanced: there are now advantages to play with friends. A points system named "maimile" allows players to purchase items and music. New items will be added and events will take place every month.

Phantom Breaker Another Code is available today. A good surprise for players: Infinity, the final boss of the game becomes a playable character! He uses many special moves and has overwhelming attacks. Other new characters will appear in the future via the ALL.Net P-ras MULTI. The game has been re-balanced to be more aggressive, players can use more special moves. A new opening movie has also been added. On NESiCAxLive side, Arcana Heart 3 LOVE MAX!!!!! will be updated tomorrow. Version 1.03 features some small adjustments such as the CPU defence and bonus points. The score is now displayed when the game is over. And especially, when specific conditions are met, "gold" characters appear, they are of course stronger and beating them gives higher scores. A "high score" campain will be held until September 8; players who send a picture of their high score will receive a character sticker.

Tecmo Koei has announced good news for fighting games fans. By the end of the year, the company will release a new arcade fighting game in collaboration with Sega. We can easily imagine that it will be released via the ALL.Net P-ras MULTI system (RingEdge2). Tecmo has not released any arcade game for over 10 years, the last being Monster Farm Jump in 2001. The new game's title has not yet been unveiled. However, it could perhaps be a special version of Dead or Alive 5 given that the console version was produced in collaboration with Sega AM2 and features characters from Virtua Fighter. We could also think of a Dead or Alive x Virtua Fighter game. Tecmo has had success with titles such as the Dead or Alive, Tecmo Wold Cup, Ninja Gaiden, Solomon's Key and Gallop Racer series... Update: the game will be Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate: Arcade and it will be out this Winter.

Gunslinger Stratos Ver.1.50 is out today. This update features a new stage "Chiba" and starts a collaboration with Funassyi character. Funassyi is the mascot of Funabashi city in Chiba prefecture. It represents a pear (a specialty of Funabashi) and is quite famous in Japan where it appeared in many TV shows and commercials. Like other stages in Gunslinger Stratos, the Chiba stage is extremely realistic.

A new update of Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme VS. Full Boost is out today. As usual, two new mecha and a stage are added to the game content. The two mecha come from the ∀ Gundam animated series produced in 1999. These are the AMX-109 Kapool operated by Sochie Heim and the AMX-109 Kapool Corin Nander Custom operated by Corin Nander. The first is equipped with: Laser Beam, Sonic Blast, Missile Launcher and 3-barreled cannon Machine and the second features the same equipment plus a Rocket Punch glove and a Minchi Drill. The new stage is the space fortress A Baoa Qu which was the last defense line of the Principality of Zeon during the war called "One Year War".
