Data Discs announced their next product today. For the first time, it will not be a Sega title! Data Discs starts a new partnership with SNK Corporation. And the first vinyl release coming from this association is Metal Slug: Super Vehicle-001. The game music was composed in 1996 by Takushi Hiyamuta. Data Disk worked more than one year with SNK Japan to release this soundtrack. They used a NEOGEO development kit to record the game musics and mastered them in their studio in London. The record features all the musics used in the game (7 tracks on side A and 6 on side B). As usual the packaging is gorgeous with a gatefold sleeve, a double-sided lithographic insert with rare Metal Slug artwork and a special translucent OBI strip. Three editions are available: tri-colour stripe with white splatter (limited edition), opaque yellow and classic black. A download code for the digital album is also included in all versions. Reservations starts on Saturday October 7th at data-discs.com and the orders will be shipped by the end of November.
Sega starts operation of WORLD CLUB Champion Football 2016-2017 Ver.3.0 today. This update adds players from the 18 clubs from the J-League as normal cards. Furthermore, the rare category "The Specialist" is revived. For example, you can find Marco Verratti, Gerard Pique, Iker Casillas and James Milner in this category. New cards for each club are also added.
Blade Strangers is a new 2D fighting game developed by Studio Saizensen that has just been announced. It will be released on Sega's ALL?Net P-ras MULTI. A location test is scheduled from September 22 to 24 at the Sega Akihabara building No.1. It features characters from Japanese games. During the location test, 5 characters will be available: Solange and Master T Drakkhen from Code of Princess, Curly from Cave Story, Umihara Kawase and Emiko from Umihara Kawase. A home version published by Nicalis for Switch, PS4 and PC are also announced for late 2017.
The new GITADORA game from Konami is out in Japan today. The title "Matixx" is a mix of the words "Maturity", "Match", "Mate" and "Dramatic". The game interface has been renewed and a new "Phrase Combo" system is introduced. If the player plays perfectly the special phrases of a song, it will increase the extra Excite Gauge. There are 25 new songs and many songs from previous versions. All hidden songs from GITADORA Tri-Boost and Tri-Boost RE:EVOLVE are still hidden if the player didn't already unlocked them. They can be unlocked in the new Deluxe mode. Another new feature added is the movie display option: three modes are available. Mode A: the movie is displayed from the middle of the lane, Mode B: the movie is displayed behind the lane, Mode C: the movie is displayed in a window.
Border Break X Zero Plus will be released in Japan tomorrow. Border Break is a mecha game from Sega in which up to 20 people can play online simultaneously. In this new version, a new stage named "Esconda Armory" is added. The action takes place in a secret arsenal where the players can enter in an enemy ship. New mechas, weapons and items allowing to customise the charachers are also available. Besides, the game series celebrates its 8th anniversary on September 9 with a campaign "8th anniversary celebration campaign".
The new version of the popular musical game from Sega is out in Japan today: CHUNITHM STAR. Many popular artists and illustrators participate to this version and original songs and characters will appear regularly. New songs from anime such as Kemono Friends, The melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya are available. There are also Touhou Project, niconico and original songs. A new function "CHUNITHM quest" is added: you can acquire item by obtaining a determined rank. The "Course mode" (play three consecutive songs) is also upgraded: you win "class emblem" according to the CLASS obtained. Collaborations with the movie Your Name and the anime Re:Zero –Starting Life in Another World– and Bakemonogatari start today and will end on September 20. Players can win characters name plate. Another collaboration also starts today with the Keikyu Electric Railway company. To celebrate te collaboration, a song has been recorded: "Kattobi KEIKYU Rider" and if you play the song in all difficulties, you can unlock the character "Kyoto Electric Railway Airport Express To Haneda Airport".
The new version (2.2) of Code of Joker hits in Japan today and its named Code of Joker ECHOES. This large update brings two new characters: the twin sisters Elvy & Elfi (CV: Yuki Aoi), their Joker is The-Lovers and Leon Bergman (CV: Takehito Koyasu), his Joker is The-Tower. Arc System Works releases BlazBlue CentralFiction Ver.2.0 in Japan today. A long awaited character joins the line-up for the first time in the series: the legendary feline swordsman Jubei. He's one of the Six Heroes and Konoe’s husband and Kokonoe’s father. The overall battle balance changes for the first time since the game started operation in 2015. Thanks to the NESiCAxLive 2 online playing content download system, battle between players in different stores are now available. During the Fate/Grand Order Fes. 2017 ~ 2nd Anniversary ~ held at Makuhari Messe this week-end, Type Moon announced that the arcade game Fate/Grand Order Arcade is being developed by Delightworks and Sega Interactive. The game will be a "Summoning team battle" and the servants of the mobile game Fate/Grand Order will be 3D graphicized. The Saint Graphs (cards used to level up the servants in the original game) will be available as physical cards and it will possible to collect them. The Saint Graphs will be designed by various artists. A location test will be held this Winter and the game should be out in 2018. Fate/Grand Order Arcade trailer is available here.
