Year after year, ATEI (Amusement Trades Exhibition International) has become the biggest european coin-op trade show reserved to professionals. This 62nd edition is no different with more than 350 exhibitors coming from all around the world. This year's slogan was "See more, switch on" and there was so much to see that we had to make a choice. That's why this report focuses on our main topic: video games. But aside these, you could find everything there, from casino's roulettes to pinballs, from slots to pushers, including spare parts and merchandising (plushes, figurines, ...). Aside the main show were organized ICE (casinos), ICEi (i-gaming) and for the first time, the Visitor Experience Show (leisure, tourism and attractions). So, here's the ATEI in pictures...

Konami presented the last in the DDR series called Dancing Stage SuperNOVA. | The competition was also there with In the Groove 2 from the american company Roxor Games on the Positive Gaming stand. |
There was also a demonstration of 5 infrared linked-up Cobalt Flux pads allowing 5 players simultaneous play. | Let's come back to Konami where you could play Pro Evolution Soccer 2006 Arcade Championship live against japanese players. |
A nice little game which originality come from its motorized board. | Cooper's 9 is a shooting game with cartoonish special effects. |
Our blow of heart: Gashaaaan. A 4 players skill game where you have to throw balls on the screen to succeed in several kinds of crazy challenges. Notice the "japanese" style. | |
Second shooter from Konami: Lethal Enforcers 3 enables you to incarnate various policemen while racing against your partner. Indeed, the one who hides less oftenly behind his shield reach the goal first. | |
Texans from Laser Shot Inc showcased a 6 players hunting game named Xtreme Hunting where you could kill all kinds of animals. | On the Lithuanians side, war is prefered to hunting. Proof is the Arcada virtual training center. |
Taito tries an incursion in Europe with Space Invaders slots, catchers, ... | ...the racing game Battle Gear 4... |
...and King of Jurassic, a Mushiking card game like starring dinosaurs. | But they weren't the only one to thought about it because LAI Games (Singapore) lined up Dino Duel. |
At last, Sega was also in the race with the very good Dinosaurking, Mushiking's successor, also featured. | Girls aren't forgotten thanks to Fashionable Witches Love & Berry in which they can dress and make dance virtual models. |
Specially designed for children these games came with their unavoidable merchandising. | All of this was nicely put in scene in a small artificial jungle. |
On the other side of the path stood the rest of Sega's line-up. | Starting with a sure bet: The House of the Dead 4. |
Without tenniswomen, here comes Virtua Tennis 3, similar to the previous opus but even nicer. | And in the new Lindbergh Universal Cabinet, it's even better looking thanks to the hi-resolution 16/9 digital screen. |
A "real" referee taught all soccer management subtilities in World Club Champion Football. | The same in its "mini" version (referee not included). |
There was also Sega's famous soccer game in its last version: Virtua Striker 4 Ver. 2006. | The manga racer Initial D Version 3 gets a new life in its adaptation for the Cycraft simulator. |
Here's now the surprise announced by Sega: developped by Razorworks, an Empire Interactive Europe's studio, Ford Racing: Full Blown lets you drive many brand's cars. This cabinet is still a prototype. | |
Awaited by a lot of Kenshiro's fans, Fist of the North Star seen its european release on Atomiswave. Featuring fully high resolution graphics but without any blood drop (!?), this fighting game is beautiful! | |
Also on Atomiswave, Metal Slug 6 gave an impression of deja vu. | And to finish with Sega, let's mention their impressive Disco Dream pusher. |
The show hosted several belgian exhibitors such as VdW International and its new pushers: Lucky Luck and Luna Park. | Elaut showcased its new soccer themed crane called Goooal. |
The famous vending machine manufacturer from Antwerp, Charlier-Brabo was also present... | As well as Mister Ed with its merchandising. |
There were many stands featuring plushes of all kinds includind the usual felines. | But also famous video games characters like Mario, Sonic, Donkey Kong, ... |
You could also find capsule contained figurines themed after DC Comics heroes, Disney and Pokémon characters in Tomy vending machines. | Talking about celebrities, you could also meet among others the mascots Crazy Frog... |
and Noddy. | The Bandai Namco booth proposed a wide range of Gasahpon including Hello Kitty, Dragon Ball, Saint Seyia, Pokémon, ... |
It also housed a Banpresto crane with the associated merchandising. | This was also the opportunity for them to present the Super Dragon Ball Z fighting game that's currently being translated into english. |
Just aside sitted The Fast and the Furious deluxe moving cabinet. | F&F's concept was just adapted to bikers' world in a game named Super Bikes made by the developer Raw Thrills. |
Let's mention another american product, the hunting game Big Buck Hunter Pro. | Namco also showcased its own games like the latest iteration in their popular 3D fighter series: Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection (very crowded). |
And as a world's first, the eagerly awaited shooter Time Crisis 4. | Other machines were also exposed on this booth. |
The Quebecers from Triotech showed several rides but also the post-apocalyptic racing game Wasteland Racer 2071. | And their big 3D theater featuring moving seats, the XD Theater. |
Many american games were showcased on Cosmic Video Amusements' booth including the Z-movie themed Alien Attack! by TopJam Games. | The latest Global VR games: the famous Need for Speed Underground racer. |
PGA Tour Golf Challenge where world's best players qualify to enter the annual tournament held in Las Vegas. | And at last a VR Vortek V3 virtual reality cabinet hosting all 6 available games for this machine. |
Another stand, another golf game with Golden Tee Live by Incredible Technologies. | Train for the world cup with Real Soccer where you shoot a real ball. |

Some visitors imitated Phil Collins at Doogi Doogi. | Older video games were still available like at JNC Sales's booth. |
Becoming more and more popular, Virtual Pinball is the first pinball to be powered by Windows XP. | Developers were also pleased with development PCBs from Game Plus. |
Have you never tried using Paint with your finger? | There was other stuff than video games, for example these machines offered you key-rings with your picture on it. |
Throw your ball on a ride down Route 66. | There was also a vast choice of pool tables. |
Slots never get old, for a few years now, video screens replaced spinning wheels. | Original: Animations projection within a sphere. |
Kiddies rides are more and more advanced. Here's an example with the worthy successor to Hang-On. | On the second floor was held for the first time, the Visitor Experience Show. |
Many attractions for younger children were presented. | The timeless remote control boats. |
Robogeddon is a transportable arena making radio-controlled robots battles available to anyone. | |
When talking about a show, you can't avoid the promogirls! These were available in various tastes: robotic... | Futuristic... |

Once again, the show attracted many visitors, more and more numerous year after year. Stands presenting video games were the most crowded thanks to excellent games' presence even if none of these were really revolutionary. Hopefully this report gave you a good outline of the show, we set you up an appointment for next year.
